A Little About Me
I must admit I was a wayward child when I was young. My Mother had her hands full! I'm sure she'll agree with me when she reads this. Highland Dancing was one outlet that my parents offered me to focus my excessive energies.
I started training when I was 4 yrs old, and started competing when I was 6 yrs old. The enjoyment of mastering the steps of a dance would fill me with pride. Of course competition is not for everyone, but there is satisfaction in that as well.
Why Should Children and Adults Study Highland Dance?
Dancing is a thorough body workout, requiring large muscle groups to be toned, and it is an excellent cardiac workout. In our society today where children sit in front of television sets or at computer stations we are finding overweight children who are going to grow to be overweight adults. It is also a discipline for the mind and body, for the dances require the brain to train both sides, left and right, of the body to follow all of the steps.
Studying Highland Dance will train the body as well as mold a young person's character. Children especially will find themselves learning discipline and understand the satisfaction of a job well done. If you are interested of having my students perform at a function or a festival please ask. So have a look out for them!

I have taken my medal tests with the SOBHD and hold Members (S.D.T.A) certificate.
I started training at 4 yrs and started competing when I was 6yrs. I stopped competing when I turned 21 yrs so I could focus on teaching. Over the period during which I did compete, I won several Championships, and over 100 medals and purses.
For those of you who are unaware, Championships are special competitions which are held once
annually.
I have also studied the following different dance forms:
